Taoyuan City has screened over 20,000 residents aged 40 and older for lung cancer through a free low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) scan program. However, only 18,000 have completed the examination, with 1,036 cases requiring further tracking and 63 confirmed lung cancer diagnoses. The Penghu Tourism Department has announced that the 2024 Penghu International Fireworks Festival will take place from May 2 to Aug. 30 in Magong. The Taitung County Environmental Protection Bureau (TTEPB) is dealing with an increasing number of public nuisance cases related to dog poop, with 31 reports accounting for 1.53 percent of total cases from January to September 2023.
